A mold dog inspection is a fast, non-invasive way to find hidden mold in your home or commercial property.

Here’s why our Central Coast Bay clients call us:

To inspect a home they’re planning to buy or rent out

Buying or renting on the Central Coast? A mold dog inspection can help uncover hidden mold before you sign the paperwork. This gives people more confidence in their investment and helps them anticipate repairs and other mold-related problems before committing.

To confirm remediation was successful

If they’ve noticed a musty smell, experienced a leak, or just have a feeling something isn’t right, a mold dog inspection can help pinpoint where mold may be hiding. Our certified mold detection dog locates hidden mold sources quickly and non-invasively.

Inspect rental or commercial properties

After mold remediation, many people want reassurance that the problem has been resolved. We inspect spaces to determine whether any remaining mold sources are still present, helping people confirm the remediation was effective.

They suspect they’re dealing with mold

Property managers and landlords use mold dog inspections to catch potential issues before they become larger problems, protecting tenants, avoiding liability, and maintaining the condition of their properties over time.

When to choose a mold dog vs other inspection methods

Not sure whether you need a mold dog or another method? Here’s why a mold dog inspection may be right for your Central Coast space:

❋ Clear answers

A trained mold dog can pick up mold odors at very low levels, even when there are no visible signs yet. Instead of only confirming that mold may be present, the dog helps narrow down where the source is hiding.

❋ Non-invasive

Our inspections are designed to be non-invasive. We investigate hidden areas of moisture or water intrusion without cutting into walls, opening ceilings, or disrupting your home or business.

❋ Fast answers

Because a mold dog can quickly move through the property, inspections are often faster than many traditional methods. That means you can get clearer answers about your space the same day.

❋ Complementary testing

Some clients come to us after air or surface testing has already confirmed mold, while others start with a mold dog inspection right away. Either way, our goal is to help locate the source, not just confirm that mold may be present.

❋ Early detection

Mold can sometimes be detected before it becomes a larger, more obvious problem. Catching it early may help you avoid bigger repairs, added expense, and unnecessary stress.

❋ Hard-to-reach detection

Visual inspections are important, but mold often hides behind walls, under flooring, inside crawl spaces, or in other hard-to-reach areas. A mold dog inspection can help investigate those hidden spaces without unnecessary demolition.

“If you’re concerned or just want peace of mind about mold in your house, I highly recommend Fido Finds Mold. You’ll get the answers you’re looking with and a fun play date with a dog.”

What can I expect when your mold dog inspects my space?

While every property is different, most inspections follow the same straightforward process and take about 1–2 hours to complete.

We begin with a visual walkthrough of the property, inside and out when accessible, looking for signs of moisture intrusion, water damage, and visible mold.

Next, Hee-do and his handler, Simon, perform a systematic search of the property. As Hee-do detects mold odors, he’ll alert to areas that may need a closer look.

Before we leave, we’ll walk you through our findings, explain what Hee-do alerted to, answer your questions, and discuss any recommended next steps. Here's a sample inspection timeline, though the exact process varies depending on the size and layout of the property.
