A faster way to help your patients confirm (or rule out) mold exposure
Our certified mold detection dog locates hidden mold in the homes and workspaces of people with chronic illnesses worsened by mold exposure.
Our inspections are non-invasive, and your patients get results while we’re still on-site.
How our dog detects hidden mold
In this video, Simon (the handler) demonstrates how Hee-do detects mold using “the wheel” training exercise as an example.
Mold releases microbial volatile organic compounds (MVOCs), chemical compounds that create the odors associated with mold growth. Hee-do is trained to detect these odor signatures—even at very low amounts—helping to locate mold sources that aren’t visible or accessible.
Hee-do and his handler were trained by Bill Whitstine, one of the leading mold detection dog trainers in the U.S. He has been training scent detection dogs since 1989 and re-evaluates Hee-do quarterly to ensure he remains accurate.
What you and your patients take away:
After the inspection, we walk through our findings, including where our dog alerted and what that might indicate.
A mold dog inspection is designed to complement your clinical and environmental evaluation, not replace it. By helping locate potential mold sources, it can guide targeted swab testing, inform remediation, and help verify the success of remediation efforts.
For practitioners, the inspection findings can give you clarity on what needs to happen for your patient to take the next step in their healing journey.
Even homes that don’t appear to have mold can be riddled with it. We learned this firsthand. This was our home, and it had mold behind every wall.
You already know how to help your patients get well.
We help you figure out if their home environment might be hindering their progress.
